Paul Addison Celebrates 3 Years at AG!!
Celebrating 3 years at AG Paul Addison Senior Chartered Building Surveyor sums up his time being part of Team AG.
What made you apply for the job at AG?
I’d heard a lot of good things through colleagues who had made a move to AG. AG presented me with an opportunity to build on my skills and knowledge that I had learnt to date, whilst developing in different directions. I was excited to be working on some big projects and working with a variety of clients.
Do you remember your first day?
Yes. I was nervous and excited to be meeting new colleagues for the first time. I remember being surprised how many little rooms the old office had.
How has your job changed over the years?
Since joining AG my role has changed in many ways. I’ve gained lots of experience and provided a variety of different services. The working environment has changed; the new offices are great, and I have become a Team Leader, managing a team within the Projects Business Unit.
What has been your biggest achievement/success?
I’ve worked on some really interesting projects during my time at AG but the one that stands out the most is the new build student accommodation I worked on in Wakefield. At the time, it was the biggest project I had managed, and it was great to be acting as Lead Consultant with a full team.
What is your favourite part of the job?
My two favourite parts of the job are working with the people at AG. Receiving positive feedback from Clients for a job well done is great too!
What is your favourite memory of the last 3 years?
Watching Alex Fowler slide down a bowling alley during one of our AG social events. That will stay with me forever!
How has AG helped you in your career development?
AG has helped in my career development by providing me opportunities to diversify my skill set, knowledge and experience through a variety of different types of work. They have also supported me in my continuing professional development and sent me on courses relating to project health and safety which has helped in becoming an Incorporated Member of the Association of Project Safety.
Before working at AG what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Working behind the Brewery Arts Centre Bar in Kendal when I was 21. You get to meet a lot of interesting people working behind a bar.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within AG for a day whose job would you want?
Difficult…but I’d probably switch with Adam Wenmouth and spend the day flying drones!
